Difference / price between flying pin test and test stand used in PCB production
The flying needle tester uses 4, 6 or 8 probes to conduct high-voltage insulation and low resistance conduction test (open circuit and short circuit of test line) for PCB circuit board without test fixture. It is suitable for testing small batch samples. The "truth value comparison positioning method" is generally adopted, which can monitor the test process and fault points in real time to ensure the accuracy of the test.
Minute hand test
General procedure of needle flying machine test:
Read the data at the flying needle workstation → convert the test files of the flying needle testing machine, produce the first article → collect the capacitance and resistance data → start production
advantage:
1. The test density is high, and the minimum pitch can reach 0.05mm or less
2. No fixture cost
3. More suitable for proofing
4. Low proofing cost
Disadvantages:
1. High breakage rate of test needle
2. The test speed is relatively slow
3. The withstand voltage cannot be tested, and the high-level high-density board test is at great risk
4. Not suitable for batch testing
5. The test accuracy is lower than that of the test rack
6. Re charging is required for return of documents
Application scope and introduction of test stand used in PCB production
The test rack test method is one of the commonly used PCB circuit board test methods in the PCB industry. Relying on the test rack (i.e. fixture), it is used to test whether there is a short circuit between different PCB network wiring, whether the same PCB network to each pad is open circuit, whether the vias are open circuit, and can also carry out insulation strength test and impedance test. It is characterized by high test speed and accuracy.
Generally speaking, the qualified finished board tested by the test rack means that the quality meets the standard.
Test stand
General process of test bench test:
Test rack on machine → use aluminum sheet to simulate full short circuit test → use conductive film to simulate full open circuit test → take good product board to learn test → ensure that the probe (i.e. circuit) of test rack is normal → loading and production
advantage:
1. High test accuracy
2. Fast test speed, suitable for batch test
2 batch test, only one test stand is needed, and the cost is lower
3 one time charge, no additional charge for return
Disadvantages:
1. The first production of test rack requires payment, and the prices of each factory are different
2. Not applicable to the test of proofing
In general, the flying needle test is more suitable for small batch, and the test bench test is suitable for the test of large batch circuit board production. In terms of price, the price of the test rack is more expensive. The prices charged by each manufacturer are different. It is recommended to conduct full test for PCB production. Using the test rack can better ensure the quality!
